“A Doctor’s Confession to Brigham
City…”
And
why, despite all, I still do what I do…
Dear Friend
Confessions are tough. Real tough.
But, sometimes a confession can set the record straight, and I want to
give credit where credit is due. Before I talk about my confession, though, let
me say a few other things first.
Let me start by explaining the photo in
this letter. You know, when I meet
people in town they usually say, “Oh, yeah, I know you, you’re Dr. Hoopes.
I’ve seen your ad with that picture of you and the two cute little boys.” Well, I’m the guy in the middle.
Years ago something happened to me that
changed my life forever. Let me tell you my story.
On October 31st
1989 my life changed forever. I was in a
car accident right here in Brigham City.
The insurance company told my parents that the accident was a low impact
collision and that I would be just fine in a few weeks. Well a few weeks after the accident I wasn’t “just
fine.” I started to develop headaches,
neck pain, and difficulty paying attention in class. As time went on my pain and symptoms became
worse, the neck pain and headaches were so bad that I couldn’t focus in
class. My grades and citizenship dropped
from honor role to even being kicked out of class for behavioral problems. I am
sure that if it would have happened in this day and age I would have been
diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. But,
there’s more…
My parents took me to a
great doctor in Ogden. He took some
x-rays and made some gentle adjustments to my back and neck. The adjustment didn’t hurt, it actually felt
good. My headaches and neck pain went
away, and I was back on the honor role with in 3 weeks. Oh, did I mention
that this doctor was a chiropractor? It
worked so well for me, and I was impressed with the other ‘miracles’ I saw in
his office, that I eventually went to chiropractic school myself.
Now for Rowdy (the kid on
the left) he is my nephew. He was almost
never born. His parents had been tying
for several years to get pregnant. They
had been to 2 specialists with no luck.
Ten months after his mom’s first visit in my office Rowdy was born. Now he is a hand full and has more personality
than any other kid I know.
The other little boy, Stetson, knows
enough to ask me to adjust him when he feels like he may be getting sick or
sometimes just to stay “tuned up.”
It’s strange how life is,
because now people come to see me with their Headaches and Neck pain. Also they come to me with their Low back
pains, migraines, chronic pain, carpel tunnel syndrome, shoulder/arm pain,
whiplash from car accidents, fibromyalgia, backaches, ear infections, asthma,
allergies, numbness in limbs, athletic injuries, just to name a few.
Here’s what some of my patients had to
say:
“Wrestling on an elite level I have put
my body through a lot. Dr. Hoopes keeps
me in tip top shape”- (Rulon Gardner
Olympic Gold Medalist.)
“After two failed back surgeries I
still had intense pain. It wasn’t until
Dr. Hoopes treated me with decompression and chiropractic that my pain finally
went away!” – (Jeff Williams
– Brigham City)
“My knees use to hurt so bad I almost
had to give up basketball, not anymore thanks Dr. Hoopes!” - (Cory Bennion - Perry)
Several times a day patients thank me for
helping them with their health problems.
But I can’t really take the credit.
My confession is that I’ve never
healed anyone of anything. What I do is perform a specific spinal
adjustment to remove nerve pressure, and the body responds by healing
itself. We get tremendous
results. It’s as simple as that!
Being a chiropractor can be tough, because
there’s a host of so-called experts out there.
They tell people a lot of things that are just plain ridiculous about my
profession. But the studies speak for
themselves, like the Virginia study that showed that over 90% of patients who
saw a chiropractor were satisfied with their results. That’s just incredible!
In our office we not only
provide gentle effective chiropractic care but we also provide many other
services; one of which is decompression therapy You may have
heard about decompression therapy It gets tremendous results with disc
herniations, arthritis, facet problems, and chronic back pain. We have it right here in Brigham City, and
there is no extra fee for that service in our office. Most insurance plans will cover 100% of
treatment costs. Many of our patients
don’t have insurance benefits, and that is ok too, because we keep our prices
low to help everyone who needs our help.
Many people find that they actually save money on their health care expenses
by seeing a chiropractor. Another way to
save…published, peer-review-ed research indicates that the immune system may be
enhanced by chiropractic adjustments.
The immune system is the system that helps the body fight colds, the
flu, and many other sicknesses. Although all people respond differently to
care, maybe you won’t be running off to the doctor as much once you start chiropractic.
This is especially important if you are self-employed.
An entire week of care in my office may cost what you could pay for one
visit elsewhere.
You
Benefit from an Amazing Offer- Look, I would love to make you some fantastic
offer to come into our office to receive free services to entice you through
our door. However because I am
contracted with most major insurance companies it is against the law for me to
do that. That’s the bad news. The good news is that because I am a
preferred provider, you can come and be treated for merely the cost of your
insurance co-pay.
I am absolutely certain that I can help you improve your health and provide lasting,
pain-free results. And while the
insurance companies won’t let me give away free services to prove it, I am so
confident that I’m giving away two free movie passes just for trying us out. Call today to schedule your appointment and
we’ll give you two tickets to the Walker Cinemas when you come in for your
first visit.
You’ll get great care. My qualifications…I’m on staff at Utah State
University, and currently author and lector on continuing education courses for
chiropractors. I’ve been entrusted to
take care of tiny babies to professional athletes. After practicing in Salt
Lake City for three years, I moved my practice home to Brigham City. This is my
home. This is where I was born and raised.
This is the best place I have ever lived.
My assistant is Cris and she is a really great
person. Our office is friendly and warm
and we try our best to make you feel at home.
We have a wonderful service at an except-ional fee. Our office is called
